How to Access Open Files when iAnnotate Shows only One Long Solid Orange Tab

Are the individual document tabs in iAnnotate no longer showing? Once you've reached 10-12 open documents, iAnnotate will consolidate all tabs into one long tab with a drop-down menu helping you easily navigate open files.

How to Navigate Open Files through a Single Tab

When iAnnotate shows one long solid orange tab, you'll notice a grey icon on the right side of the tab that shows a stack of multiple pages.

  1. Tap the multiple pages icon to reveal the drop-down menu. Here, you'll see a drop-down list of all your open files.
  2. From the drop-down menu, simply tap on the document you wish to access. Your chosen file will open, ready for you to continue annotating.

How to Return to Multi-Tab View

To return to the multi-tab view, simply close a few documents and reset the view either by returning to your main library or rotating your device from portrait to landscape (or vice versa). Once you return to an open document, you'll notice that the multi-tab view is restored.

Need to Resolve a Tab Warning?

If you see a triangle with an exclamation point on the right side of the tab (in place of the multiple pages icon), this means too many files are open which can affect the app's performance.

We recommend closing as many files as possible (i.e. all the documents you're not actively working on) by tapping the "x" shown on the right side of the document name.
