Merging Multiple Documents & Moving, Adding, Rotating and Removing Pages

Easily merge files and adjust pages within a document with these simple steps

To merge documents:

  1. Go to the iAnnotate document library by tapping the "+" in the top left corner.
  2. Navigate to files that you'd like to merge and tap the circle to the left of the document name/icon to select it. This makes a checkmark appear within the circle. 

    Note: The documents must be in the same folder. If they are not, then you'll need to move them so that they are in the same folder.
    At least TWO documents must be selected before moving on to step 3 and merging documents. 
  3. Then tap the three dots at the (…) at the bottom of the page.
  4. Select "Merge” and choose the merge order (the order in which you’d like both documents to appear within one file). You can do this by tapping and dragging the three horizontal lines shown to the right of the file name. You can drag up and down to place the file in the correct order. The order of the document can also be changed later at the document level, once the document is merged.
  5. Then, tap “Merge Documents” at the bottom of the menu to officially combine the documents.
  6. The merged document will open as a new tab. (you might like to rename the document at this point 


To move pages in a document: 

  1. From the document view, tap the grid icon in the top right corner. (This appears as an icon with four grey squares and sits between the share icon and search icon.) 
    This will reveal the thumbnail view of your file helping you find the page you’d like to move.
  2. Once you’ve located the page, long tap (tap and hold), then drag the page to your preferred location.
  3. Release your long tap the set the page in its new position.

 

Add, remove, or rotate pages: 

  1. From the document view, tap the grid icon in the top right corner. (This appears as an icon with four grey squares and sits between the share icon and search icon.)
  2. Tap "Edit" in the top left side of the thumbnail view panel.
  3. Select the page you’d like to add, remove, or edit. It will be highlighted with a blue border when selected. You can select multiple pages to perform the same action at once. Tap all the pages you want to edit so that they all are highlighted blue.
  4. Once selected, tap “Add”, “Remove”, or “Rotate” at the bottom of the panel to adjust the document.
  5. Confirm the action by continuing the prompts that follow.
    1. To add pages: Select the type of page you’d like to add - “Blank Page”, “Lined Page”, “Grid Page” or “Scan Page"
      1. Scanning a page: Choosing “Scan Page” will open your device’s camera to scan a page. Once you scan the page, tap “Save” in the top right corner, then “Add page"
    2. To remove pages: Tap “Delete Pages” in red text
      1. Note: This action CANNOT be undone. It deletes annotations and the selected pages.
    3. To rotate pages: Tap “Rotate Annotated Pages” in red text
      1. Note: The “Rotate” button will turn the page clockwise by 90 degrees with each tap. You can tap the button multiple times to rotate the page to your preferred orientation.
  6. Tap “done” in the top left corner when you’re finished editing.

    To resume working in full-screen view, tap the grid icon (this time it will appear as orange) or tap the grey arrow in the top right corner of the side panel to close the thumbnail view of your file.
