Uncover the ins and outs of iAnnotate's Stamp Tool to take your annotation process to the next level.
This comprehensive guide will walk you through the most efficient ways to use and create stamps in iAnnotate, ensuring you make the most of this feature for a seamless annotation experience.
Adding Custom Stamps to the Stamp Library
A. Creating a Stamp from a Previous Annotation:
- Long-tap (tap & hold) on the annotation you wish to turn into a stamp.
- In the annotation menu (top right corner), tap on the stamp icon.
- Enter your preferred stamp name in the "Enter Stamp Name" box.
- Tap the checkmark to save.
B. Creating a Stamp from your Photo Library or Camera
- Start by tapping the Stamp Icon on the toolbar.
- Tap the document to Open the Stamp Library.
- Select the plus sign (+) icon at the bottom right.
- Choose the image source for your stamp: "Photo Library" or "Camera."
- Tap the image you want to upload as a stamp.
- Name your stamp in the "Enter Stamp Name" box.
- Tap the checkmark to save.
Pro-Tip: The Stamp Library sorts numerically and alphabetically.
Using Your Custom Stamps
- Access your custom stamps by tapping the stamp icon in the toolbar.
- Tap the page where you want your stamp to appear.
- The Stamp Library will appear and your custom stamps will be available. Scroll to find your stamp or use the search feature to type the stamp name.
- Tap to select your stamp.
Sorting Custom Stamps:
- To keep custom stamps at the top of your library, consider naming them with a number or numbered prefix (e.g., "1 - [insert preferred name]") because the Stamp Library sorts numerically and alphabetically.
- Use the search bar in the stamp library to search for your stamp by name.
Stamp with a specific image- create a stamp that always stamps with one image:
If you frequently use a specific annotation or stamp then "stamp with a specific image" might be a useful tool for you. We can add this frequented stamp image directly to your toolbar, bypassing the stamp library, allowing quicker access to this stamp.
1. Tap the toolbox icon on the top of the toolbar. This will open the toolbar editor.
2. Drag the "stamp with a specific image" from the tool menu to the toolbar.
3. Choose the image from the stamp library.
4. When finished, tap done.
You can create as many stamps as you need using this method, keeping in mind that the number of stamps is limited by the number of tools allowed on each toolbar.
You can create multiple toolbars
Editing Stamps:
Moving and Resizing Stamps
If you need to adjust the size or position of your stamp you can do this after the stamp is placed on the page.
1. Tap on the stamp image. The menu specific to the stamp will appear in the top right.
- To move the stamp, drag it where you would like it. Tap the check mark when finished.
- To resize the stamp, select the resizing icon from the annotation menu (top right corner - this icon looks like a box with draggable corners). A blue box will appear around the stamp when it's ready to resize. Use two fingers to pinch and zoom in or out on the stamp to adjust its size. Tap the check mark when finished.
Troubleshooting stamps:
My stamps are blurry:
Occasionally a stamp will look blurry after it has been created from another annotation. This usually happens with a typewriter annotation. To resolve this follow these steps:
- Zoom in on the annotation
- Long-tap (tap & hold) on the annotation you wish to turn into a stamp.
- In the annotation menu (top right corner), tap on the stamp icon.
- Enter your preferred stamp name in the "Enter Stamp Name" box.
- Tap the checkmark to save.
See regular view (zoomed out) below is not quite as sharp as the zoomed in stamp
Re-creating Stamps from the iAnnotate Stamp Library:
Unfortunately, it is not possible to re-create or duplicate a stamp that is in the Stamp Library. You will need to re-create using an existing (non-stamp) annotation or from your photo library.
