How to Download Files for Offline Access

Working on the go? Download documents from cloud storage for offline access to keep iAnnotate moving with you. This means you can keep working whether or not you have internet access.

When you download a document, it will be saved to iAnnotate's local cache, which is where the app stores data like annotations, when you're working offline. Once you regain internet connection, iAnnotate automatically syncs with your cloud storage, saving your work in its original location.

Download for Offline Access:

  1. From the Library view (tap the "+" in the top left corner to access the iAnnotate library), navigate to the document you’d like to download.

You will be unable to close a document (by tapping the "X" on the tab) while you are offline. As soon as you regain your connection, your document will save (you will no longer see an asterisk * next to the name, and you can close the document.

Removing Offline Access for a Previously Downloaded Document

Once you’ve finished working with a document, you can clear iAnnotate’s offline access cache, which will remove the ability to access the documents offline and free up storage space on your device.

It's important to note that this action only removes your offline access and does not delete the document itself.

  1. Navigate to the iAnnotate Library. (Tap the "+" in the top left corner)
