You decide how to store your files and Folia will help you reach them from anywhere.
Integrating your Folia account with external cloud storage services is a game-changer, and we've made it simple to access all of your files. Here's how to effortlessly add a storage connection.
First - Create a Folia Project
To connect a cloud storage location - make sure you've created a Folia Project first.
Now You're Ready to Access Files
- Open an existing Folia Project
- Tap "Add Document" in the top right corner.
Option 1: Add Cloud Storage
- Select "Add Cloud Storage" found at the bottom of the pop-up menu
- Choose your cloud storage location of choice (ex: Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, Dropbox), and follow the prompts to connect your account.
Solidify Your Cloud Storage Connection
- Input a "Storage Name" in the pop-up field of your storage location
- Tap "Save Storage"
Annotated files are saved as a copy in Folia and will not actively sync back to your cloud storage location. If you've been with us for a while, you'll notice this works a bit differently than in iAnnotate.
Option 2: Connecting to Local Files
You'll notice that Local Files are automatically a part of your Folia account. To access documents saved to your device:- Tap "Local Files" at the top of the pop-up menu to access your device's document library. From here, you can bring any file from your device into a Folia Project.

Removing a Storage Connection in Folia
While Local Files are built into the Folia app and cannot be removed, you can disconnect a cloud storage connection at any time.- Simply tap "Add Document" to access the menu of storage location options.
- Hover over the cloud storage connection you wish to disconnect, then tap the "x" icon along its right side. This will remove the connection from your app
A Note of Caution
Be careful as only one tap will delete the connection. Ensure you're selecting the exact location you wish to delete before continuing.
In case you delete a storage location on accident, not to worry. You can easily re-add it using the steps above.
