How to Add a Storage Connection in Folia

Quickly access files by connecting your Cloud storage accounts to Folia.

Follow these steps to add a storage connection to Folia making it easy to access all of your files.

All files imported into Folia are saved as a copy in Folia and will not actively sync back to your cloud storage location. If you've been with us for a while, you'll notice this works a bit differently than in iAnnotate.

You'll open Folia each time you want to access the annotated file. You always have the option to download a copy of your annotated file.

First - Create a Folia Project

To connect a cloud storage location - make sure you've created a Folia Project first.

Next, You're Ready to Access Files

  1. Open an existing Folia Project
  2. Tap "+ Add Document" in the top right corner.

Add Cloud Storage

  1. Select "Add Cloud Storage" found at the bottom of the pop-up menu
  2. Choose your cloud storage location of choice (ex: Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, Dropbox), and follow the prompts to connect your account.
  3. Add a "Storage Name" in the pop-up field of your storage location
  4. Tap "Save Storage"

Connecting to Local Files

You'll notice that Local Files are automatically a part of your Folia account.

To access documents saved to your device:

  1. Tap "Local Files" at the top of the pop-up menu to access your device's document library. From here, you can bring any file from your device into a Folia Project.

Removing a Storage Connection in Folia

While Local Files are built into the Folia app and cannot be removed, you can disconnect a cloud storage connection at any time.
  1. Tap " + Add Document" to access the menu of storage location options.
  2. Hover over the cloud storage connection you wish to disconnect, then tap the "x" icon along its right side. This will remove the connection from your app.

Removing a cloud connection will not affect any files in your Folia projects. It will only remove the shortcut to import a copy of a file into a Folia project.
